A new creation has dawned in the resurrected body of Jesus of Nazareth — and through faith in the gospel, we too can experience that same new creation. That’s why the proclamation of the gospel, the planting of churches, and the discipling of believers will always remain at the very center of everything we do at Gospel Life.
Updates from Isaac
A few weeks ago, Isaac Dzimbiri and I sat down to talk about church planting and women’s ministry. You can watch our conversation below or listen wherever you get your podcasts:
Flooding in Malawi
In that conversation we mentioned how flooding often hits Malawi in March, right as harvest is nearly ready. Sadly, several areas experienced serious flooding again this year. Please pray for the many Malawian families who are recovering and rebuilding after this disaster.Baptisms in Mangochi District
In our last update, we shared that Patrick Matope had moved to a village in the Muslim-majority Mangochi District to plant a church. I’m thrilled to report that he has already baptized three men who have come to faith in Christ! This is a strong and encouraging start as he works to build a healthy church with solid leadership. Please keep praying for Patrick and his family as they serve in this challenging area.
Women’s Ministry
Suzen Dzimbiri recently taught our very first women’s Shepherds Academy in the Lake Chirwa area. In Malawi, where most church members are women, doctrinally sound women leaders are essential for building strong, healthy churches. We’re excited to expand this ministry to other regions in the future.
Blantyre Shepherds Academy
For the first time, Shepherds Academy has launched in Blantyre, Malawi’s largest city. While we’ve focused mainly on training rural pastors, the Lord opened a door in this fast-growing urban center, and Isaac jumped at the opportunity. True to form, he began by teaching through the gospel so everyone starts on the same solid foundation.Thank you for your continued prayers and generous support for Gospel Life. Because of your partnership in the gospel, we’re able to keep training leaders and planting churches in Malawi and beyond.
